In next 1-2 hours I will change the way way the project awards points for tasks.
There will be not constant 2 credits per WU because I have to prepare server for longer tasks <- and we don't know exactly time of new WU... could be 10-15 minutes or even 1 hour <- and 2 credits per hour would be not fair

If they decide to run "Credit New", the random credit generator, I'll be moving to another project fairly soon!

PLEASE, don't implement the built-in credit system of the BOINC server!

at this moment I am backing to 2 credits per WU.

I thought about built-in credit system but with some extra % bonus:
1. more Wu you crunch more % bonus you gain per WU. Example you crunch 100k tasks your bounus per WU is 10% <- max bonus lvl.30%
2. higher lvl of badges you have the greater % you have <- you have 1lvl of badgfe you gain 1% bonus, you have 50lvl you gain 50% extra
3. more cpu time per day you give to project
4. you are longer in project (of course you have to be active crunchers) <- you gain some bonus

These are just my ideas.
Maybe you have other suggestions?

Have to agree with everyone else about creditnew aka CREDITSCREWED... DO NOT USE IT!

The creditnew forumula is BROKEN and more like a RANDOM NUMBER GERERATOR.

As mentioned many times on the SETI forums, CREDITSCREWED starts out paying somewhat correct points per tasks, after a while the points awarded keep falling and falling.......... which makes the credits issued per task WORTHLESS to compare how your PC's are doing and eventually the points might even fall to zero in the future.

Once the SETI boards are backup after the weekly outrage I can post some links/talking points about why NOT to use creditnew.

DrugDiscovery@Home is one other project apparently using creditscrewd that I can think of right now with very low points per tasks compared to what they really should be.

I see CREDITSCREWED is already hard at work here keeping points VERY LOW - EXAMPLE:

One of my PC's Application details for host 20
Average processing rate: 6.71 GFLOPS
Most tasks being completed on this PC are receiving approximately 1.20 credits... which is about 5.5 times LESS than what it should be according to the Average processing rate noted above.

My mistake.
Now I fix it and 75% acctuall series will give 3 credits not 2 as recompensation.

You can implement any credit system you like. Those that don't like it can move elsewhere. The project is new and the credit from now on doesn't have to match or even remotely line up with what's the current RAC for the project.

I'd prefer a static point per task and it makes comparing systems easier but it doesn't have to be as high of a credit for the people craving points vs value.

Are there any stats available that list info for all (or most) projects which includes the cpu info, runtime and credits? Where credit per cpu second or run second for each cpu type can be compared?

At this moment we would like to stay at 2 credits per minuts of cpu work.
Of course we know that everythink depends on CPU, but we will test app on old and new CPU and make avarage time for apps and WU.

For exaple avarege tiem for htest_64bits 2.0.0 it's 25-30 minutes in test on 5 diffrent enviroments so I set up 50 credits per WU.

Because we develop 64bits application for linux and windows we will propably decrease credits per wu from next series <- but it will be still about 2credits per minutes of process.
We don't event have plan to support 64bits system so fast, it's why we planning 25-30minutes per task not 3-5 minutes.
